India is a country of deep contrasts. While its major cities reflect rapid development, many rural regions continue to face challenges in accessing quality education and infrastructure.
​
Maharashtra is one of India’s most developed states, yet within it lies Palghar district, located in the northern Konkan region. Palghar is home to tribal communities, farming families, and coastal settlements. Despite its proximity to Mumbai, many villages struggle with limited educational resources. Government schools are often understaffed, and children receive minimal individual attention, particularly in foundational literacy and numeracy.

At the same time, Palghar is marked by resilience. Many of the students we work with are first-generation learners, and families increasingly recognise the importance of education. The communities are close-knit, and young people are eager to learn and grow.
Our work builds on these strengths by partnering with local communities to deliver contextual, compassionate, and effective learning support.
